Action plan approved and adopted by the PCC on 8th March 2010
1. Complete and submit audit to establish ‘where we are’ with environmental aspects of our worship, administration and mission.
2. Develop and implement plan to improve management of our churchyard for the benefit of parishioners and the environment.
3. Review potential for further inclusion of issues around God’s creation in our teaching.
4. Review what further actions can be taken to maximise recycling and use of environmentally friendly products.
5. Develop plan to enhance our children’s appreciation of God’s creation and our environment, in worship, education and recreation.
6. Share good practice and promote awareness of environmental issues related to our life styles through articles in the pew leaflet, parish magazine and website.
7. Identify opportunities to collaborate with St Nicholas, Wickham and other sister churches (Anglican and otherwise), as well as secular organisations, to participate in local environmental initiatives or community schemes.
8. Promote awareness of our plans through the parish magazine and website, and encourage feedback.
9. Bear in mind our Eco congregation principles when considering any parish outreach/support of overseas charities.
10. Identify any expenditure that may be required to meet our objectives.
